Police on Monday charged two men in connection with the discovery of illegal guns and ammunition in two separate incidents at Gros Islet.
The charges follow a joint operation on Friday involving the Criminal Investigation Department of the Gros Islet police station with back up from other police departments.
Wendell Vidal, 31, of Soufriere was slapped with six charges, including 2 counts of Possession of Firearm and 3 counts of Possession of Ammunition, after police executed a search warrant at his apartment at Cas en Bas, Gros Islet, where they reported finding two illegal firearms and over 100 rounds of ammunition.
Charges for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition were also laid against 25 year old Erne Nurse whose home was searched during the Police operation at Gros Islet.
Law enforcement officials reported that when they executed a search warrant on Nurse’s homeĀ at Cas en Bas, they found one illegal pistol and 10 rounds of ammunition.
Both Vidal and Nurse have been remanded in custody until September 9, 2020.
