Two Shootings, Six Vehicle Incidents In Fire Service Weekend Report

The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) responded to two separate reports of shootings and six vehicle incidents over the past few days.

Spokesman Damian Jn Baptiste made the disclosure in the SLFS weekend report.

Jn Baptiste said on Friday about 3:00pm, Fire Service Headquarters responded to a call regarding a shooting at Roseau, Castries.

He stated that emergency personnel treated a 31 year old male and transported him to the OKEU Hospital.

And on Monday about 12:13 am, there was another shooting incident at Bruceville, Vieux Fort.

Jn Baptiste explained that as a result, emergency personnel from the Vieux Fort fire station treated a 25 year old male.

He said the man had ‘penetrating wounds’ to the leg.

Responders transported the patient to St Jude Hospital.

The SLFS also responded to six separate vehicle incidents.

They included a vehicle fire at on Friday at Corinth, Gros Islet.

In addition, two vehicle accidents occurred in Vieux Fort, one at Babonneau, one at Rodney Bay and one at Micoud.

As a result of the incidents emergency personnel transported some seven individuals to OKEU and St Jude Hospitals.

For the weekend of January 8, 2021 to January 11, 2021, the Fire Service recorded 78 ambulance responses.

Thirty-seven of the responses were in the South of the island.

Forty-one responses were made in the North of the island
