US flight lands safely at Hewanorra International Airport after landing gear issue

A United Airlines flight landed safely at Hewanorra International Airport Saturday evening, after reporting problems shortly after take off, a senior government official has confirmed.

The situation forced emergency services to go on high alert in preparation for a possible mass casualty event.

Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, was kept abreast of the situation.

According to information obtained by St Lucia Times, the flight, with some 150 passengers on board, encountered problems with the landing gear shortly after taking off.

It is reported that the pilot could not retract the landing  gear.

However the aircraft was able to return to Hewanorra International and touch down without incident shortly before 8:00 p.m., after circling the airport  for some time to burn fuel.

  1. To God be the glory…thank you Jesus. It’s not by power or by might but by my spirit sayeth the Lord. Amen

    • What the heck does Raquel Chastanet have to do with this you fool….St Lucia blite because people like you are ignorant and still believe in black magic, evil and obeah. Get out of the dark ages idiot. Say praise God this was not worse.

  2. We serve a risen Savior !!! But I hope that this serve as a warning to our government and the people of St Lucia to take off their blind folds. We need St Jude Now!! Forget Party colour!!!

    • To be honest we will not have a hospital in the next 20 years,as the two political parties have failed us look at how people live in the slums and getthoes 13 year olds are giving birth people living in poor conditions pooping in macys shopping bags some pooping in the rivers most men are paid 4;25 cents an hour working 12 hours a day from their children whiles we have politicians want to take the tax payers to court claiming 400.000.00 in backpay

      • Winston, well said. The people are their worst enemies. They won’t hold the politicians to account for their inept stewardship. They put party affiliation before their or the country’s best interest. They allow the politicians to divide them. The longer they remain divided, the fewer accomplishments the country would realize. People, public indifference is a politician’s greatest asset. To give any party blind support is detrimental to your wellbeing. Let all politicians work hard for your vote and support. They should perform satisfactorily and exemplary to earn your vote. Lastly, once politicians get into power, they become self-absorbed. They don’t care about the best interest of the country. They suffer from a deficit of empathy. People, you have to hold politicians’ feet to the fire if you are to get positive results.

    • For the love of Country, the value of human life, for the love of Christ! A proper hospital is not a luxury….Citizens how much longer will you continue to allow the government to rip-you-off. Blame games

  3. I cannot understand how airlines keep flyong into St. Lucia without a proper hospital in place in case of an emergency. This is not political, this is basic common sense. I guess we will wait until somthing happens to react. Shame no one is proactive when it comes to basic needs. What a mess!!!!
