And  she observed that Saint Lucia has seen an uptick rather than a decline in the number of persons travelling.

Georges observed that May 2021 as compared to May of 2019 reflected an 81 percent regain of the market share for the United States.

“We also note that the advisory is encouraging people who are vaccinated to travel to Saint Lucia,” the SLTA official observed.

“And so we have been pushing, along the lines of those who are vaccinated as well, the change in protocol – just encouraging those who are vaccinated to indicate that they are vaccinated at the time of their application and present their card on arrival,” Georges told St Lucia Times.

She explained that all vaccinated individuals would be required to wear a destination branded wrist band at all times throughout their here, to be disposed of only at the time of departure.

“That not only indicates that the traveller is vaccinated, but it also helps to build that level of confidence with the general public, just knowing that the people who are in your environment are also taking the necessary precautions against COVID-19.”

Georges disclosed that the summer is already recording peaks, with accommodation providers indicating that it will be their best summer.

“Saint Lucia is definitely looking forward to what we have dubbed ‘An Exciting Summer'”, the SLTA official told St Lucia Times.
