Vagrant In Hospital After Gros Islet Chopping, Suspect Arrested

A vagrant is in hospital after a chopping incident on Chapel Street, Gros Islet, residents say.

The incident occurred about 1.30 am on Friday, it was reported.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim, identified as Frank Constantine,  was dealt several blows to the head and arms with a cutlass.

A swift response from Gros Islet police led to the arrest of a suspect in his forties.

The victim was transported to the Owen King EU Hospital and is said to be in critical condition.
