Vehicle Plunges Over Precipice In Anse La Raye

A vehicle ran off the road and plunged over a precipice at Massacre, Anse La Raye, on Monday prompting a rescue operation by the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) after it received a distress call about 7:30 p.m.

SLFS Communications Officer, Stacy Joseph, disclosed that emergency personnel received information that seven people were on board the vehicle at the time.

“The responding officers found five of the occupants, including the driver, standing on the road side. Two of the passengers of the vehicle were rescued using ropes and the basket stretcher,” Joseph said.

She explained that the patients, who sustained various injuries, were immediately provided
rapid transportation to the OKEU hospital for emergency medical treatment.
