The victim of a suspected suicide at Caye Manger, Gros Islet has been identified as Kennedy Albert Phillip, 54.

The Taxi driver by profession is reported to have ingested a poisonous liquid about 7.00 am Thursday.

Neighbours reported that he had earlier been involved in an altercation with his wife.

Scene of suspected suicide

Phillip was taken to hospital where he succumbed.

His older brother, Sylvester Richmond Constantine, told St Lucia Times that the deceased had been encountering marital issues.

“The wife called all of us to talk to him,” Constantine recalled.

Constantine made an appeal to individuals contemplating suicide to speak to others, including priests, pastors, counsellors and friends.

He said his deceased brother had three children.

  1. You can never finish knowing someone…this guy had it all…nice cars..bike ..house..beautiful wife but apparantly he was lacking in the almighty.

  2. Dear people it is very sad , he is no longer their to enjoy this lovely house. Men you need to stop taking your own life especially if it is over a woman . You will be gone and it won’t take long for this woman to start enjoying herself with another man and to make it worst , is if she takes that man to leave in the same house you’ll work so hard to build. I as a woman was in a relationship for 16 years and I worked so hard to accomplished so many things with that man but he was to laid back that’s when problems started in our life .When I realize I would die working hard I walked out on everything and am now trying to start my life all over. Men pls stop because life will continue without you 😣

  3. Nobody has the right to judge this man or his wife! Sometimes life takes turns good or bad and sadly there is heartache … but we cannot judge … so if you have nasty opinions then please don’t air those opinions on here … keep your nastiness to yourself … this man deserves respect both in life and his death!
God rest your soul … it was obviously troubled 🙏

I take my hat off to you for being brave enough to walk away from the unhappy marriage. It takes guts (I should know) I too walked away from everything and stared again. I wish you all the luck in the world.
