The driver of a motor vehicle escaped unscathed after it burst into flames Friday morning along the Gros Islet Highway.
According to emergency officials, the incident occurred about 9.22 am.
They say the driver, identified as a police officer, exited the vehicle when he saw flames coming from the bonnet.
The Gros Islet fire station dispatched a fire truck and an ambulance to the scene.

But the vehicle was destroyed.
The driver who escaped unhurt was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the fire, according to fire service officials.
