Masked individuals robbed the Family Food Mart at La Ressource, Vieux Fort, Monday night, escaping with an undisclosed sum of money and liquor, an eyewitness says.

The eyewitness related that about 9.00 pm the bandits pulled up in a Toyota Hilux.

St Lucia Times was informed that two of the bandits entered the business place while the other stayed in the vehicle.

At least four members of staff of the Food Mart, including a security guard, were in the building at the time.

A video posted on social media shows two individuals dressed in black pushing traumatised staff members through the aisles of the Food Mart.

No injuries were reported.

  1. I smell a rat from what I saw no firearm or any weapon maybe he had a pen knife 🤷🏻‍♂️one of them holding a bag and the security shirt guess he show them the gun in his waste and the next one only had a bag

    • You assuming made an @$$ of yourself because deductive reasoning is definitely not your forté.

    • It is the big s the capatilist and the government that is responsible for the crime that is taking place in the island when you have 85 percent of men earning only 10 hundred dollars a month how can they provide for themselves and their families because of the low wage rate the work force is being exploited in st Lucia and people have to commit crime just to provide for their families that is the reality that we live in private sector workers are working for nothing in St Lucia …

    • Can’t believe the first comment I’m reading is from a seemingly quick to criticise uneducated son of a b. U don’t know the half of what went down nor what the staff may have went through but you’re gonna sit you hole there and utter rubbish. You never know until it touches home. I urge you, get a life.

  2. Are there any CCTV cameras can the transport board track down all the Toyota hulix and give the police the information

  3. Are we safe in Lucia land? Who is in charge of our safety? things has gotten from bad to worse! our business owners are at risk, the employees are frighten to go to work; so who to blame? should we blame what they call: human rights? Because all rights go’s to those azy fool calle criminals!

    • No we are not safe in this country. We need to give up this notion as this has been the case for a long time. This is a country where people receive a monthly to do a job yet there is no accountability (politicians, judiciary, police) for them being ineffective. This is the new normal…for now. I’m sure it will get worse, much worse before citizens begin to hold authorities accountable. Oh and they are good boys.

    • because it says that there were 2 of them. So clearly she hadn’t seen them since they were all the way to the back.

  4. You all people blaming government for everything who looking for jobs and when jobs coming in than who stopping it answer that ?

  5. Ppl are fast to criticise . the business owners had no rite to put these videos up showing the staff without the staff permission.they don’t care about the staff well being but only their business place.this video has gone viral everywhere
