Vieux Fort North MP, Moses Jn Baptiste has called on the government to supply stand pipes and soap dispensers to the Pierrot, Belle Vue and Aupicon bus stand.

And he has suggested that the same apply to bus stands countrywide.

The MP spoke against the backdrop of a sharp spike in reported cases of COVID-19 in Saint Lucia.

“This bus stand needs stand pipes and automatic soap dispensers immediately,” Jn Baptiste asserted in a video posted on the official Facebook page of the opposition Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP) on Thursday.

According to the Vieux Fort North MP, the bus stand is a place where people from communities in the constituency go to get buses to go home.

He explained that the area is usually a hive of activity.

“ I believe the government – remember they got 30 million US dollars, a loan of 30 million to assist with the COVID-19 response, I am suggesting to the government, I am appealing to the government to put stand pipes and soap dispensers at this bus stand,” Jn Baptiste stated.

“ In fact I am suggesting that immediately, all bus stands around Saint Lucia should be equipped with stand pipes and automatic soap dispensers,” he said.
