Virgin Atlantic Aborts Landing In Saint Lucia

Virgin Atlantic aborted attempts to land at Saint Lucia’s Hewanorra Internal Airport Wednesday afternoon due to bad weather, officials here have confirmed.

According to reports, the aircraft made three attempts to touch down about 1.00 pm, when the pilot diverted the plane to Barbados.

One official told St Lucia Times that such developments are normal during bad weather with flights destined for Barbados also being diverted to Saint Lucia in the past.

It was explained that the flight would normally return when the weather clears up.

The official disclosed that a British Airways flight landed at airport here afterwards at 1:23 pm.
