Press Release:– The Water and Sewerage Company Inc. WASCO wishes to inform the public of the resumption of plans to conduct repairs on the raw water line from the John Compton Dam to the Theobalds Treatment Plant.
These repairs had been previously planned for March 2020, however due to the onset of the novel Corona Virus which necessitated a high demand for water, followed by a prolonged dry spell, these plans had to be temporarily shelved.
The planned repairs on the raw water line are expected to address water losses on the system and to increase the volumes being received for processing at the Theobalds Treatment Plant.
The repair works are scheduled for August 26th, 2020 from 8am.
As a result of the repairs, consumers in the north of the island will experience a temporary interruption in the water supply on Wednesday August 26th, 2020.
Upon completion of the works, the water supply will be restored.
However, residents at higher elevations as well as those on the further end of the system will experience delays as the system recharges.
WASCO urges consumers to store water in order to avoid any inconveniences that the planned works and the resultant temporary water supply interruption may cause to you our valued customers and we thank you for your patience.
