One year ago and just three days after he was officially sworn in as Prime Minister, Hon. Philip J. Pierre, vowed to revitalize Saint Lucia’s Emancipation Day holiday.

On August 1, 2022, Saint Lucia witnessed an Emancipation Day observance of unmatched national intrigue and government investment.

What used to be an unremarkable holiday has transformed to more than a month of official celebrations and activities collaboratively produced by a diverse conglomerate of local stakeholders.

  1. It is hypocritical to celebrate emancipation and still have a governor general doing works of the white queen. It is hypocritical now to accept the white monarchy recently to come here and worship them when their families were the slave masters. (We are still not learning). It is hypocritical to celebrate emaniicipation day when our government leaders still follow the slavery constitution with the power that have bestowed on them.
If we are truly free don’t only ask our vote to put y’all in position above us but to vote on every main bill taken to parliament. We should always be voting on serious matters that will affect our lives. There should always be a referendum multiple times a year. But you want the power to control us for 5 years and be exempt from all punishment and expenses. That ain’t right if you wanna talk about freedom. When the black man wants to do the work of the white men it means black people have not learned and will not learn and understand what celebrating emancipation means.

  2. When are St. Lucians going to become politically mature & emancipate themselves from the predatory duopoly that has been taking turns to strangle them, since the attainment of adult suffrage?

    • The evidence for the immaturity is the strong pride still on display by the fools who brag about being conquered 7 times each by the French & English colonials!

  3. Biggest massa evil is showing in your eyes pjp..The devision you and your cabals in St. Lucia for power one day let me leave it right there

    • You are sooooo much on point. So sa with these small minded guys. They just can’t emancipate themselves from mental slavery.

    • Oh yes the bitter, vindictive SLP still campaigning.
Getting back at the ‘white man’ with tons of money spent on Emancipation Day. I wonder who in the butt kissing clique was paid? Showing that THEY need to be emancipated from their mental slavery and their hypocritical and self serving quest for power to fill their pockets and gain the prestige of office.

We are facing unprecedented decline in our economic standing and moral base as a country but all Pierre and his parasites are interested in is optics.
Inflation ravaging our pay packets and after one year in office they offer talk take and travel.
Every session of Parliament is more politicking and us having to watch these low grade buffoons.
Every $20,000 trip abroad comes back empty handed.
And we watch their frustration grow with the requests of St Lucia s for leadership.
We have yet to see from the SLP a sober, realistic, workable approach for any of the myriad of problems facing St Lucia.
But we get what we deserve. To have attached ourselves to these immoral visaless clueless jokers devoid of an ounce of finesse refinement manners or decorum says more a out the state of our nation than anything.

  4. Gwan most Honorable and thank you for restoring the remembrance of this important day for Black People and for those who has suffered from the CARNAGE of the MIDDLE PASSAGE to The Emancipation Proclamation of 1834 that marked the date when all Black Children born and under six years of age were deemed to be free, but of course we know in many places our people were STILL not free; they were been forced to work on plantations and The Bloody British Government was still reaping the rewards from the sweat of our people, and even then the slave masters were told to free us they wanted COMPENSATION for the release of their property of which much of that paid out monies are still in The Bank of England, Barkley’s Bank, The Bank of Nova Scotia, the Bank of Canada, and these banks were still flourishing in the Caribbean, and Black People were still making their deposits to them and getting screwed with high bank fees and interest rates (still a slave), If you were not Shabbin, you could not work behind the counter of any of these banks. A Yellow Prime Minister St Lucians worshiping as their WHITE GOD and SAVOR/ RESTORER family is on the roster of owing us, BUILDING THEIR EMPIRE and making their deposits on those that cross the middle passage YES HIS FAMILY NAME IS THERE IN BLACK AND WHITE CHECK BARKLEY’S BANK AND THE BANK OF ENGLAND ARCHIVES they will actually show the amount that was deposit monthly for our constant whipping and sweat and tears, that’s where half day comes from, yu’ll stop working go back in your holding pens while I run to town to make my deposit before the bank close on Wednesday which was set aside by these banks so the SLAVE MASTERS could make their deposits. With that been said, guess who still celebrate half day even in BIG 2022 ?? The Absolute Shame of it. Black People take time to learn your history, we did not volunteered to come here we were brought here by force. Other groups make their Holocaust be known by their own kind in every way everyday. They are trying their best to rewrite history to make it seem like none of this happened or the magnitude of those that suffered thru The Middle Passage to get here was lock luster, and we should not demand reparations, we should still cling to the skirt of the British Monarchy because “it’s better for us” we can’t govern ourselves or decide our own destiny “it’s better when they do it for us”, cling to their religion, cling to their brain wash education, cling to their white doctrine and way of life, because White is right, Black is always wrong mental slavery . Black People were Inventors, Educators, Astronomers and Doctors of Internal Medicine while they were still living in caves in Europe. They learn and stole from us, always be proud and celebrate and learn about of your Black History. Black History is world history.

  5. FINANCIAL FRAUD!

BANK OF SAINT LUCIA BRIDGE STREET BRANCH CASTRIES,

SCAMMERS AT BANK OF SAINT LUCIA CONDUCTED A FINANCIAL FRAUD ON MY ACCOUNT AT BANK OF SAINT LUCIA ,

BOSL I NEED YOU TO RESOLVE THE FINANCIAL FRAUD WHICH WAS CONDUCTED ON MY ACCOUNT.

BOSL YOU ARE USING A CCTV FINANCIAL FRAUD TRANSACTION, WHICH WAS CONDUCTED ON MY ACCOUNT , TO COVER-UP THE FINANCIAL SCAM,

BOSL YOU NEED TO STOP YOUR CORRUPTION AND RESOLVE THE FINANCIAL FRAUD CONDUCTED ON MY ACCOUNT

  6. You can never please everybody. That will be your saying. When a whole country is trapped in religion that was forced upon us, how can we be truly emancipated?
IMF wake up, CHINA Wake up, LGBTQ wake up.
    When st.lucia waking up?

    • ……NEVER WAKE UP !! What was the St Lucia Revolution ?? We always had others fight to keep us to enslaved us for their benefit but St Lucians has never fought for their own freedom it was handed to us Haiti has more respected history over St Lucia, even Jamaica, Nanny of the Maroons, Morant Bay Rebellion, Barbados Rebellion, St Kitts in 1834, everybody draw their cutlass and put up a fight for their freedom not us. We try a ting against the British but we get conquered again by one them France/Spain you know how it went down which explains our timid ways to this day.
