A motor scooter caught fire Saturday afternoon in Castries, sending flames and thick black smoke shooting into the air.
The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) said the motor scooter was parked at the Castries Market when the incident occurred.
A fire service official said emergency personnel were alerted to the fire about 5.20 pm, but found that the fire had been extinguished, leaving the charred remains of the motorcycle.

The official said no one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
