The wife of murdered Micoud Mon Repos businessman Andrew Joseph, spoke to HTS Evening News Monday night, hours before the shooting victim was pronounced dead at St Jude Hospital.
Daphny Joseph recalled that after he was shot by bandits on Saturday night, her husband told her that these were his last days.
“After this man has worked so hard – so hard; and in his last days it’s time to relax,” she stated in the interview with HTS.
Mrs. Joseph recalled that on Saturday evening about 6.00 pm she was in the family shop with her husband and a female helper.
“While I was sitting all the way at the back, I noticed that a struggle was going on so when I went I saw two masked men with two guns, a silver one and a black one towards my husband,” she said.
Mrs. Joseph said she and the female helper fled, entering the family home which is near the shop.
“When I was coming in I heard a gunshot – a very loud gunshot,” she stated.
Mrs. Joseph said she returned to the shop where she did not see the bandits but observed her husband.
She said when she spoke to him he informed her that these were his last days.
Mrs. Joseph explained that she saw no blood, but was informed by her 76 year old spouse that he had been shot.
He had sustained a bullet wound to the lower abdomen.
Mr. Joseph was rushed to St Jude Hospital and died Monday afternoon.
Law enforcement officials said this week that two people had been in custody assisting with investigations into the armed robbery.
The masked bandits are reported to have escaped with a small quantity of cash.
