Wife Of Murdered Businessman Recalls His Words After He was Shot

The wife of murdered Micoud Mon Repos businessman Andrew Joseph, spoke to HTS Evening News Monday night, hours before the shooting victim was pronounced dead at St Jude Hospital.

Daphny Joseph recalled that after he was shot by bandits on Saturday night, her husband told her that these were his last days.

“After this man has worked so hard – so hard; and in his last days it’s time to relax,” she stated in the interview with HTS.

Mrs. Joseph recalled that on Saturday evening about 6.00 pm she was in the family shop with her husband and a female helper.

“While I was sitting all the way at the back, I noticed that a struggle was going on so when I went I saw two masked men with two guns, a silver one and a black one towards my husband,” she said.

Mrs. Joseph said she and the female helper fled, entering the family home which is near the shop.

“When I was coming in I heard a gunshot – a  very loud gunshot,” she stated.

Mrs. Joseph said she returned to the shop where she did not see the bandits but observed her husband.

She said when she spoke to him he informed her that these were his last days.

Mrs. Joseph explained that she saw no blood, but was informed by her 76 year old spouse that he had been shot.

He had sustained a bullet wound to the lower abdomen.

Mr. Joseph was rushed to St Jude Hospital and died Monday afternoon.

Law enforcement officials said this week that two people had been in custody assisting with investigations into the armed robbery.

The masked bandits are reported to have escaped with a small quantity of cash.

  1. Prayers to the family of the businessman. When is the Gov’t going to say enough is ENOUGH with these senseless killings? Whether it’s SLP, PLP, UWP, etc, it’s high time to bring back hanging for ALL intentional killings. I guess when it’s lands at the doorstep of politicians is when capital punishment will return.

  2. Well st.lucia do not manufacture guns soo where all those guns coming from ???hmmm time to investigate our people who say they protect our boarders aka customs , port police ect ect

  3. It is high time the police send a loud and clear message to the thugs, louts, murderers, and thieves to be “vigilant” that they (the police) have their eyes on them – AND WILL SHOW NO MERCY!!

  4. I went to Marigot Beach the other day, it opened my eyes, all these little thugs hanging out, talking rubbish about crippy and guns eh eh, harrassing the tourists and overcharging for rubbish souvenirs and drinks, then gambling and fighting over the $$$. Go into Castries, bad boys hanging round CDC. Everywhere its the same. They dont want to work just want a quick $. Then they go shoot a hard working older gentleman for some small change, hang them and stop this lawlessness on our streets and beaches.

  5. THIS SAD COMMENTARY WILL GO ON AND ON AND ON AGAIN TILL THE ISLAND IS VOID OF ANY FORM
OF CIVILITY, DECENCY AND NORMALITY. THE SPIRIT OF LAWLESSNESS IS CREEPING TO A FINAL COUP.
THE ANSWER (1) YOU KILL – YOU HANG. (2) PUBLISH THE FULL FRONTAL PHOTO OF THE CRIMINAL(S).
AND THEIR NAMES, FORMER ADDRESSES. (3) ONCE YOU ARE CONVICTED, YOU RECEIVE 50 LASHES.
FOR PETTY CRIMINALS, ASS WHIPPING, PUBLISH PHOTOS – IF YOU WONT HANG, THEN ASS WHIPPING
ONCE A MONTH FOR KILLERS, PLUS THE ONCE CONVICTED MANY YEARS AGO. MINIMUM CONVICTION
FOR MURDER SHOULD BE 50 YEARS HARD LOBOUR. THE LAW IS TOO DAMN SOFT ON THESE CRIMINALS.

  6. So isn’t miss Mary Francis a human rights lawyer for all citizens who fall under the human rights bracket? Why do we only hear her voice when police kill those worthless criminals, and she goes absolutely mute when honest and hard working citizens get butchered by those very same heartless and coward criminals? Maybe it will really hit home when u will not survive to tell the tale of what those criminals that u defend did to u miss Francis.. TIME WILL TELL…

  7. Truth or crook what u talking about there,,,,,chas or ass,,,,,,everyday for the whole year has been the same story,,,,,,rob and kill,,,,,,so u need to tell ass to implement hanging once more and no bail to those who will get a minimum of fifty years hard labour

  8. PM and government officials and the people of st Lucia please let get SSU and more police on the streets. I will say get rid of those tinted windows on the island these is also attracting criminals at any time. Make an immediate law.

Mary Francis you need to let those criminals get their punishment or else they will deal with you eventually. Your time will come. Stop supporting this nonsense and helping those lazy and dangerous people destroying the island.

Mrs Joseph please accept my deepest sympathy to you and family.
