DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (CMC) — Veteran West Indies star Deandra Dottin is now the world’s number two-ranked all-rounder in Twenty20 Internationals.

In the latest rankings announced Tuesday by the International Cricket Council, the 27-year-old had jumped two spots to second, following her exploits in the recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the Caribbean.

Dottin overtook West Indies teammate Hayley Matthews and Australia’s Ellyse Perry, and is now only 32 points behind her captain Stafanie Taylor, who tops the list with 353 ranking points.

Barbadian Dottin was one of the few consistent performers for the Windies in the T20 World Cup, making 121 runs and finishing as the joint-leading wicket-taker with 10 scalps.

Bowling her sharp right-arm seam, she produced career-best figures of five for five in the opening match against Bangladesh in Guyana.

Perry, meanwhile, lies third in the all-rounders rankings while Matthews sits fourth and South Africa skipper Dane van Niekerk, fifth.

In the batting rankings, Taylor remained steady at number two despite her poor form in the T20 World Cup while Dottin also remained unmoved at number four but the 20-year-old Matthews slipped three places to 15th spot.

Matthews, a rising star, struck 62 against Sri Lanka but mustered scores of only 6, 8, 1 and 5 in her other four innings.

She also took a tumble in the bowling rankings, falling 11 places after taking just three wickets with her off-spin in the recent tournament – all coming in her stand-out game against the Sri Lankans in St Lucia.

However, Matthews is the only West Indies player in the top 20 of the bowling rankings headed by Australian fast bowler Megan Schutt.

New Zealander Suzie Bates remained top of the batting rankings.
