Youth on Fire celebrates the Black Panther Movement

Castries, St. Lucia, May 23, 2016  – On Saturday 28th May 2016, Youth On Fire Movement will host its Annual Music Lounge event dubbed “Black Panther”.

The event will be held at the Anse la Raye Multipurpose Court from 7:30PM. Tickets cost $30 for adults, and children below twelve years pay $15.

After a hiatus, last year, the Youth On Fire Movement Music Lounge coordinators promise a return that will blow the socks off its patrons through the portrayal of different genres ranging from spoken word, to Soca and everything in between, satisfying the taste buds of all. Various artists for the night include NRG, a band from the community, Studio 9, Nathan ‘Infinate’ Deterville, and the reigning Groovy Soca King Arthur Arlain and many more.

Proceeds from the event go towards YOFMs main beneficiary, the After School Assistance Program (ASAP). This is a lessons program which provides one-on-one academic help to Secondary School from volunteers in the community, Mondays to Wednesdays throughout the school year. The other beneficiary is the group’s Education Fund which provides scholarship or assistance to students in the community. Currently, YOFM sponsors transportation cost for one of its ASAP students, and has in the past years paid tuition for three students. After revamping the program in 2014, the ASAP has helped a number of students improve academically, and is one that man y parents have fully endorsed.

Youth On Fire Movement aims at creating an experience that will continue to attract patrons from near and far, as raw and refined talent will be on display!

Persons who are willing to be affiliated with the group, can contact the group’s President, Faustina Edward at [email protected]
