Police Lay Multiple Charges After Seizing Illegal Guns, Ammunition & Drugs

On Sunday 16 April, 2023 about 5:00 a.m. Officers attached to the Central and Northern Division of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force and The Regional Security System (RSS) conducted operations in the communities of Bois D’Inde, Marigot, Jacmel and Entrepot.

The purpose of this operation was to conduct searches at locations within the Northern and Central sector of the island following an increase in incidents of gun violence.

In light of this, a contingent of Officers proceeded to several locations where searches were conducted. During the conduct of that operation, three (3) Illegal Firearms, Ammunition and Controlled Drugs were recovered.

A total of ten (10) Search Warrants were executed and a total of twenty-one (21) individuals inclusive of a French National were apprehended for the offences Possession of Firearm, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Controlled Drugs and Possession with intent to Supply.

UPDATE

Jessica Eugene of Entrepot was formerly arrested and charged and pleaded guilty for the offence of Possession of Controlled Drugs and ordered to pay the sum of one thousand, five hundred ($1500.00) dollars before Thursday, May 18, 2023 or in default three (3) months imprisonment.

For the offense of Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply, she was ordered to pay the sum of two thousand ($2000.00) dollars, to be paid before Tuesday, July 18, 2023 or in default, three (3) months imprisonment.

Possession of Cannabis Resin she was ordered to pay two thousand dollars ($2000.00) before Wednesday, October 18, 2023 and in default six (6) months imprisonment.

For offence of Possession of Cannabis Resin with Intent to Supply she was ordered to pay the sum two thousand five hundred ($2500.00) dollars before Monday, December 18, 2023 or in default six (6) months imprisonment.

Ten individuals who were arrested on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Marigot during the joint police operation were each charged for the offence of Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition. They are;

  1. Chestly Raphael
  2. Obediah Duncan
  3. Jeremie Modeste
  4. Keran Pierre
  5. Maxwell Leo
  6. Lybert Gilbert
  7. Glenn Joseph
  8. Lee Propere
  9. Jeneka Henry
  10. Franzet Fidol

Jeneka Henry and Obediah Duncan were also charged for the offence of Possession of Controlled Drugs and Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply.

Franzet Fidol was also charged for the offence of Handling Stolen Goods.

Chestly Raphael was also charged for the offence of Robbery and Kidnapping.

Obediah Duncun was also charged for the offence of Kidnapping.

Two of the individuals were charged for the offence of Rape and Gross Indecency.

  1. wait, didnt the the law say that you are only allowed to have a certain amount of weed on you? if so then why are people being charge for resin ? does it mean the resin found was in large amounts more than the law applies for?
