Pierre, Chastanet Hail Saint Lucia Kings CPL Win

Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre and Opposition Leader Allen Chastanet have hailed the Saint Lucia Kings for capturing their first Republic Bank CPL T20 Champions title.

Pierre declared that it was ‘another historic victory’.

“This victory adds to the many reasons why we are Proud Saint Lucians,” the Saint Lucia Prime Minister asserted in a Facebook post.

“Gentlemen, you have made us proud,” Pierre wrote.

Opposition leader Allen Chastanet, for his part, congratulated the Kings.

The Kings defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors by six wickets in a game that swung both ways on Sunday night at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence.

Despite the defeat, Guyana’s President, Dr. Irfaan Ali , expressed gratitude to the team and the ‘enormous fans’ in Guyana and the diaspora for making CPL 2024 special.

“We would have loved for the team to lift the trophy, but in the end, we know our hearts were lifted together in supporting this amazing team,” Ali stated.

” Let us continue to encourage them as we root for 2025. I want to personally thank all those who came home and those who visited us to be part of this grand event. We value your time and, of course, the local fans – without you, none of this would be possible. Love to everyone,” the Guyana President wrote on Facebook.
