Vieux Fort Man Charged With Raymond Camsell Homicide

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, about 9:00 a.m. Police Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Vieux Fort, responded to a report of a suspicious death referred by the St. Jude Hospital.

Initial reports indicated that a male victim presented to the medical facility on Sunday, October 6, 2024, complaining of having been assaulted. Despite medical interventions, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, he succumbed due to his injuries.

A post mortem examination was subsequently conducted, which revealed that Raymond Camsell a fifty-five (55) year old of Pierrot, Vieux Fort died as a result of Jejunal peritonitis, due to blunt trauma to the abdomen.

On Saturday, October 12, 2024 Simeon James alias “Kanjoe” of Pierrot, Vieux Fort, was arrested and charged for causing the death of Camsell. He is currently remanded in custody.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force reaffirms our commitment to maintaining law and order. We wish to appeal to individuals to seek other means of resolving conflict; violence creates victims far beyond the intended target.

  1. Mr Guard….how comes his pic not part of this article? Yol serious but not serious at the same time ! Show the world their faces so their friends and family and acquaintances can be proud of them.

  2. I wonder whether Mr. Guard has gone to visit his family. We really need conflict resolution strategies to help in our crime prevention. These are the things the minister of national insecurity should be working on instead of giving the police 20 new vehicles every month and when someone calls any police station for assistance, they are greeted with the famous phrase, “We have no transport”
