Two Brothers In Custody After Castries Homicide

Police took two brothers into custody after launching an investigation into a fatal stabbing in the La Toc Road area on Wednesday.

Investigators have identified the deceased as Danjuma Paul of the Millennium Highway in Castries.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) received a report at about 6:00 pm that a male had succumbed after being stabbed during an altercation with two other men.

According to the police, Saint Lucia has so far recorded 70 homicides in 2024.

  1. As of November 7, 70homicides for 2024. Projected homicides in 2024: 82 at current trajectory. Projected homicide rate: 45.73 per 100,000 people. In 1994 the Homicide rate was 6.64 per 100,000 people. That’s a 6.88 times increase in 30 years. What a sad statistic.

  2. Very sad with the crime rate here in Saint Lucia. We beat Barbados , Martinique Antigua by far in the homicide count. infact Antigua is less than 20 homicides for the year, It seems our people here have an evil spirit and killing someone is the answer to it. I am pretty sure its more than 70 homicides, those died in hospital and not given count or those bodies they found decomposed,

  3. DocDell I’m sure you are correct. Many shot/wounded die weeks and months after and are not included in the official count. Not to mention all those permanently maimed/crippled. It is a terrible situation.
