At the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force’s (RSLPF) last press conference, Deputy Commander of the Special Services Unit, Inspector Small, announced that the Special Services Unit would intensify patrols and its presence.
This announcement was followed by action. On Wednesday, 20 November 2024, at approximately 7:50 p.m., the Special Operations Team of the RSLPF conducted a series of exercises within the Babonneau area. A total of forty-three (43) motor vehicles were checked, five (5) tickets were issued, and one (1) vehicle was impounded.
Notably, during a vehicle search, the officers recovered one pistol with a magazine containing twelve (12) rounds of ammunition. The three (3) male occupants of the vehicle were arrested for possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
RSLPF operations continued into the early hours of Thursday, 21 November 2024. Following the Special Services Unit’s (SSU) response to a shooting incident, during a tactical patrol, the officers had cause to engage the two occupants of a motor vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery and seizure of one (1) firearm with a magazine and ten (10) rounds of ammunition.
As a result, two males were arrested for the offences of possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition.
These targeted responses to incidents of gun violence, will continue throughout the country, to restore public safety. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting the community.

You are all too lenient with the gang bangers in St. Lucia – step up step up before St. Lucia becomes another HAITI……….
See what happens when the popo actually go out and do their jobs. Results follow. Please intensify and uphold all laws.
Release them on bail immediately! They all have important engagements. They have ribbon cutting ceremonies to attend. What a travesty if they are absent. I know for sure that they will be sorely missed as guest speakers if they are tardy or a no-show.
Since the 2 arrested will be bailed by end of day, why not publish their mugshots! Why? Remember once upon a time there was a hitlist under ORC….I bet they will think twice when their faces are posted.
All arrested will be released on bail soon, to repeat the process! What’s the point of arresting on firearms offenses only to be bailed again and free to kill again? Only in Saint Lucia. The ‘human rights lawyers’ are smiling, more cases for them means more money.
Of course they will be out on bail soon. In the meantime, Special Operations Team, please ensure that they are not kept at the Babonneau Police station if they have a little bribe money. We all know the history of the officers there with letting the criminals who can pay run off in the middle of the day.
Let them out on bail and follow them, case closed..Problem solve…
