In the wee hours of Saturday November 30th, three juvenile delinquents broke into Nutz Bar and Grill at Odsan, Castries.
The proprietor of the establishment, Miguel Clifford, says more police patrols must be conducted in the area as the perpetrators are repeat offenders.
Clifford explained that he was asleep at home when a comrade of his sounded the alarm. “When I was in my bed sleeping about minutes to five, I heard a vehicle blowing me outside. When I got up, I looked. I saw my best friend. And when I came outside, I asked, “What happened?” He said, “Man, they broke into your bar,” he recounted.
According to Clifford, the perpetrators were making their escape and that he and his comrade pursued them. “We put them in the back of my van. I’m sitting in the back of the van with them and I drive them back to my bar. And then I open the bar and I open their bag on the pool table and I saw what they had and then I call the police,” he explained.
Clifford says he knew who the perpetrators were and that they had broken into his establishment before. Back in May of this year, he says, these same young men had stolen over $20,000 worth of drinks. “These guys have been involved in many crimes around the place and the police knew them. Because they’re minors, they’re doing that because if they get caught, they’re not going to see jail,” he said.
Clifford is calling on parents to be more responsible for the acts of their children. He says parents are enabling their children in criminal behaviour. “If your mother could come and bail you out of something you do at 4 o’clock in the morning and you back out that same night already, that just shows the mother is as bad as them,” he said.
He also urges police to conduct more patrols in the area and says stricter measures must be taken against juvenile offenders. “I would like the police to be patrolling around the area a little often. And I need the police to take more measures in place. When they get these guys, they have to put them inside, lock them up. The thing about the guys and being minors, to me, is not making sense,” he said.
Send them to boy training center
These are not children. They are criminals and need to be treated as such. We need to bring back flogging on the square.
Who says they’re minors? All three are past 18. Don’t let the height of the “leader” fool you: he was released from Bordelais about two weeks ago …
These aren’t juvenile delinquents. These are criminals.
Mothers hold on to your children.
MOTHERS and FATHERS hold on to your children
And so, what is their punishment?
Next time do not record anything and don’t call the police. Take them to a secluded area and give them licks until they Sh*t on them.
Bring back corporal punishment. Flog them.
The parents who know their kids are causing destruction in St. Lucia should be made to pay for all the stolen items. WHY – because they always say “AA he is a good boy just a little troublesome” – NO HE IS A CRIMINAL WHO NEEDS TO BE PUNISHED.
In addition, he is most likely bringing $$ and stolen items home and you may also be partaking of the loot. Enough already — seriously ENOUGH.
