Armed Robber Shot Dead by Licensed Firearm Holders In Corinth

Corinth residents were jolted awake on Sunday as gunshots shattered the early morning silence of the community.

The gunfire stemmed from a failed robbery attempt at a well-known business in the community at about 1:30 am, leaving one of two armed assailants dead after licensed firearm holders confronted the intruders.

According to a witness who spoke to St. Lucia Times, the incident unfolded when two men stormed the business, brandishing firearms and demanding valuables. However, their plans were quickly thwarted.

“We were inside, and two men entered wielding guns, wanting to rob the place, but two licensed firearm holders opened fire. They ran, but one of them was shot. The other escaped,” the witness recounted.

The wounded gunman collapsed just a few yards from the business, succumbing to injuries sustained during the incident. His body was discovered lifeless on the pavement, with a firearm nearby.

Crime scene investigators swiftly cordoned off the area, restricting access to both pedestrians and motorists as they processed the scene. The incident marks the 75th homicide for the year as 2024 draws to a close.

The escape of the second suspect remains under investigation, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.

  1. That’s how you deal with armed robbers, but not everyone will be happy, the so called ‘human rights lawyer’ will say that excessive force was used and that the gun-toting bandit should have been shot in the leg instead! Let’s wait to hear from the ‘enablers of the perpetrators’, so called ‘human rights lawyers’.

  2. This is deserving of a medal. To be exact: Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Lucia (GCSL). Please, don’t sell him short. I would love to introduce him to my sister.

About time someone in the public struck back. Happy no one in the public was hurt. Looks like bail for the one that fled if he is ever caught. What a system! We are supposed to accept these low standards as normal. Just because an inept leader can’t bring himself to admit he can’t do the job.

  3. Let’s give these guys some medals. See what happens when citizens can protect themselves? They protect their damn selves. Police can’t protect. They can’t be everywhere. Stop making it difficult for law abiding citizens to acquire the means to defend themselves. Bandits have guns. We need them too.

  4. Sa ou jwene, chébéy. Now find the other one that escaped by identifying the deceased. I have no empathy for these vermins.

  5. So this is Christmas, and what have you done! Let’s give this Christmas, nothing brings more joy at Christmas than when we give! A gun-wielding bandit was just given a trip to Paradise! As good citizens, it would be good to uphold the tradition of giving this Christmas, to the armed criminals and bandits, give them what they deserve!

  6. F*(K around and find out…why y’all don’t go to school or go find work to do…Sir Arthur has courses, go wash some cars, go bag groceries, go read a book. Jusso yall think people working hard for yall….R.I.P I’m sure he was a “good boy”

  7. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Identify the piece of genetic garbage, go after his known worthless associates and you will find his accomplice, charge him for murder, no bail.

  8. This Christmas so far the news haven’t been good, the West coast road is a shambles, Santa would need a helicopter to bring gifts and to give to the poor. Prices at the supermarket are high, bills cannot be paid. And finally, some good news that’ll make this Christmas merrier: armed robber thug shot dead! The only disappointment there is that one got away to live and rob another day!

  9. I guess the dead man family want justice cause he died on his job. LOL the next bottom feeder s*** his pants running from gun fire and you have gun to. You should stay there and take copper like your soldier on the pavement.

  10. Rule #1 ….neutralize and threat! Why isn’t there a RSLPF “manhunt” appeal for the second rat? Disappointed in our crime fighting strategies time after time, as a former law enforcement officer from trumpland!

  11. Nudge this your feel good day come thru….armed civilians confronting robbers. Yeaaaaah open deh one deh open deh no cutlas we will handle in a more “humane way” more of this, more of this, they should come by you too so you can finally squeeze off a few. I guess I should buy mine it doesn’t any sense having a license and paying to renew it over and over.

  12. Oh my, how sad, imagine instead of eating turkey and ham for Christmas, all the robber got was some copper and nickel.

  13. Since he died on the job, the family has to call his union representative, the ‘human rights lawyer’.

  14. The one that got away should repent & say, thank God I got away, I give up the practice, never again so now I’ll find me a job & never try that again. so you think? he’ll be right back on the job.

  15. The comments had me hollering. When I tell people nobody can sort people out like a Lucian I eh never lie. I need water cause i deh coughing, y’all are da best.

  16. You would think by now the Police would have a statement/ alert to the general public to be on the lookout for a robbery suspect who is x feet tall, was wearing x clothes, x shoes last seen in the Corinth etc etc while this is still fresh! But NO, the system has people who wanna fight crime only in their dreams and through endless talk! Imagine the massive manhunt that could have been underway through the assistance of the general public 1 day after the other got away! Are we really serious about fighting crime?

  17. The last supper of the bandit was a dish of a mixture of metals, maybe lead, zinc, copper, steel. Bottom line, he got what he came to dish out!

  18. Hats off that licensed firearm holder. I would shake that person hand for doing a great job at killing one of the robbers and shouldn’t even spend no time in prison whatsoever.

  19. The grandmother, mother and sisters will say he was a good boy, someone sent him to do that. Others will say they should have shot him in the leg. Mary Francis what will you say?

  20. What kind of world are we living in when you have firearm holders firing and killing? I am appalled to say the least about this ghastly and ugly incident. This man has no right to kill anyone. Where is the police when you need them?

I am calling on the police to arrest this man and to do that immediately. What is happening in this island of ours? Why are people shooting others at random? If you suspect someone is coming to rob your store then you have the right to call the police. It’s plain and simple. What you don’t do is to take the law into your hands and execute this person/s. As far as I am concerned this is murder and murder should be dealt with like all other murders. This matter should be taken to court by the CPS and be prosecuted. You simply cannot allow people to do as they wish and execute people without due process.

The gunman could have fired a warning shot if he felt that he was coming to harm by the accosted individual. Why did he have to shoot to kill? This poor bloke lost his life like his life ain’t worth nothing. No one is speaking up for him in this forum. Everyone is bent of revenge vengeance and retribution . What kind of society are we becoming when people act and behave in such a manner? What if it were your brother or family member? Would you lot be endorsing this criminal act? There was no need for using such excessive force. None whatsoever!

What is this coward doing with a gun whether licensed or not? No one in the island should be carrying weapons except the police. Weapons should only be carried by a special unit of the police force. I don’t believe that every member of the force should be assigned weapons – only specially trained ones. We are not living in the jungle where animals do as they please and get away with it. We are living in a civilised society governed by laws and regulations. This man should be arrested and brought to book for this heinous crime. This is nothing but murder. Poor bloke losing his life just before Christmas… Please stop killing the people needlessly. Wake up St Lucia!

  21. Again I ask what was the reason for this killing? Was it necessary to kill this young man? There are lots of people who own guns in St Lucia who should not be owning them in the first place. What are we doing with so many firearms and weapons in this small country? Where are we going with it? No one should be allowed to carry weapons so freely in this country. One should only use a weapon if your life is in danger or you feel that you are about to be expunged- If you are faced in such circumstances then you have a right to defend yourself by using reasonable force. You have no right to use excessive force.

How was this man’s life threatened? Did the impending thief started firing at him? I don’t think so as far as I gather in what I read. This shop owner must have had an inbuilt desire to shoot at anyone who remotely threatened his business. You cannot do that and should not do that. Where are you heading in this splendid island of ours if we allow people to take people out without consideration for life. He could have fired at his legs or shoulders which would render this young man disabled.

This man should face justice. He should be arrested and banged up for taking someone’s life. He has taken a human life. A human who had the right to life. Where is his human right to live. We should stop being hypocritical in this country. We talk about crimes and people carrying firearms yet when they use it indiscriminately to kill others we give them our full support just because they are shopkeepers and businessmen. Whatever happened to the law which said ‘Thou Shall Not Kill’

  22. This armed thug robber crook thief bandit who was killed, the entire episode is quite serious, especially as an accomplice got away. The accomplice getting away should not serve as a source of fun and contentment for the ‘human rights lawyer’, who very will might be saying ‘y’all got one, but there’s another on the run, beh-le-lesh.’ Responsible citizens should now be on the lookout for anyone trying to sneak into any health care facility with bullet wounds. They might try to say is fireworks that cause the injury, or a match bomb, but don’t be deceived, just call the police.

  23. Thoughts and prayers ????
Do not wait until you sink down to call upon God, the God of goodtimes and badtimes…
God protect the innocent, that does not means if you are righteous and then practising the work of the evil 😈 doers of if you not suppose to be in among the wicked or…surely God will not protect you…

  24. Waiting to hear hypocrites on excessive force… The usual statements, ” what he did was wrong but they did not have to shoot him like that”. Some ppl just love crime and anything evil. Don’t shoot the criminals. They were just running away.

    Waiting to hear it

  25. Why would anybody come on this platform to make statements defending an armed robber? I have already told you people in SLU that for some in this society, crime is a business. That is how they make their bread and butter. Do not look to them to defend you.

  26. @ebroker are you the one who got away ?????? – why are you condoning crime???????

It is unfortunate but that’s what happens when folk play russian roulette. Clearly, by all indication, the gang bangers in St. Lucia are on a suicide mission of elimination because of their own choices.

As sad as this sounds it is the reality when you do not desire to do something meaningful with your own life and you envy everyone else. We can all make a meaningful contribution to society – we all can not be lawyers, doctors, pharmacist, nurses etc etc – but we can do something else. God created each of us with purpose – however to do wrong or to do right is a personal choice and choices have consequences.
