The Youth Economy Agency (YEA) recently hosted its second annual Youth Investment Forum, allowing dozens of entrepreneurs to gain valuable insights on attracting investment and network with potential mentors.
Last Thursday’s forum at the Harbour Club Resort in Rodney Bay was designed to inspire, empower, and equip young leaders with the tools to shape a brighter future.
Held under the theme ‘Millennials and Gen Z’s as Trail Blazers’, the day’s activities were not limited to lectures but also featured engaging conversations and presentations. During the morning sessions, dynamic speakers such as soca artist Gamal Doyle, better known as Skinny Fabulous, and Saint Lucians Keeghan Patrick, CEO of Obtronics; and Natalie John, CEO of Dreamy Weddings inspired entrepreneurs with their intriguing insights into ways to invest with global trends in mind.
In the evening, attendees were treated to a riveting and engaging panel discussion featuring the founder of Helen’s Daughters, Keithlin Caroo-Afrifa, among others. The event also provided opportunities for networking between entrepreneurs and potential mentors.
Among the other key speakers was Raphael Saul, a Barbadian motivational speaker, business consultant, and attorney specialising in leadership and change management across the Caribbean and North America. In his presentation, Saul spoke about personal experiences and implored those in attendance to transform the way they perceive their enterprises to achieve true transformation in business.
“I believe in this room, there is tremendous business potential. I believe in this room, there are phenomenal entrepreneurs, millionaires in the making,” Saul told attendees. “But we’re not going to see this potential come to light and be able to have the impact it needs to have in this society and this region and beyond if we don’t start by shifting the way we think about our businesses.”
