Piton soared at the Soufrière Infant School Track Championships on Tuesday at the Soufrière Stadium. They overcame a pre-track deficit of 36 points to defeat Botanical Gardens, Sulphur Springs, and Caribbean Sea.
Coming into the meet, Sulphur Springs were on 355 points, Botanical Gardens 335, Piton 319, and Caribbean Sea 224. On the day, Piton netted 459 points to finish on 778. Botanical Garden finished with 757, Sulphur Spring 683, and Caribbean Sea 550.
In the Pre-K division, Alaia Alcee of Botanical Gardens and Simon Dolor of Caribbean Sea were the top girl and top boy, respectively, with a gold medal each.
Kishanly Deligny of Piton topped the Under-6 girls with a gold and a silver. Janvier St Brice of Sulphur Springs topped the boys with two gold medals.
The Under-7 crowns went to Shervel Gonzague of Caribbean Sea in the girls, capturing a gold and a silver, and Jahmeil Stanislas of Piton in the boys with two gold and a bronze
The Under-7 titles belonged to Johniann Epiphane of Botanical Gardens, who topped the girls with three gold medals and a bronze. Ethan Jn Philip of Piton got two golds and a bronze.
In the Under-9 category, Keyannie Edward was the reigning girl, pacing Botanical Gardens with three gold medals. Jaden Jn Baptiste of Piton did her one better, winning four gold medals.
