A senior officer within the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) remains under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct, Police Commissioner Verne Garde has confirmed.
The allegations, which date back more than a decade, have raised serious concerns about accountability within the RSLPF.
Commissioner Garde, who took office in September 2024, revealed that upon reviewing the case file, he identified missing elements and instructed the investigating officer to address them within 12 days.
However, after an extension was granted, he expanded the scope of the probe, appointing a police inspector to oversee the investigation.
“The investigation is ongoing, and I expect that it will be submitted to my office,” Garde stated, assuring that efforts are underway to move the case forward.
While he did not provide a specific timeline for completion, he committed to delivering an update at the next press conference, scheduled for next month.
