Popular social media content creator Natokie Cana Anthony has been fined $3 500, which must be paid in three months, for having prohibited imports – occult-related items.
The sentence was handed down on Tuesday by Magistrate Christine Phulchere in the First District Court. Anthony was convicted on May 14, 2024, after a full trial. The charges of possession of unlawful goods and prohibited imports stemmed from a joint operation conducted by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force on September 12, 2022, which resulted in the seizure of two crystal balls, a Ouija board, a Holy Bible – Heritage Edition, a Wiccan Bible, an Angel Witch Book, and a Book of Shadows, all of which are classified as prohibited imports under local laws.
During sentencing on Tuesday, Magistrate Phulchere said that while she had no intention of sending Anthony to jail, he had to be punished for breaking the law, and a fine was deemed an appropriate penalty.
Prosecutor Inspector Andre Etienne, noting that this case was the first of its kind, agreed on the appropriateness of a fine. He added that based on Anthony’s pre-sentence report, his income from bartending, social media content creation, and operating a tattoo shop, he could afford a monetary penalty, the maximum of which is $5 000 under Section 118 of the Customs Act.
Given the opportunity to respond to the prosecutor’s submissions, Anthony explained that he was currently only getting income from his content creation, and even that amount fluctuated.
“That’s the only source of income I have for now,” he told Magistrate Phulchere.
“It’s not as much as it was before. I’m not saying if there is a fine I’m not able to pay, but the impression the probation officer gave, I don’t get that anymore.”
Anthony, who had no prior criminal record, described himself as a law-abiding citizen and social media influencer who encourages people to do good.
“I don’t do any illegal activity. I’m a family man. I don’t know how I got myself in this type of situation,” he stated in his defence.
However, Magistrate Phulchere pointed out to Anthony that he did break the law by having the prohibited articles. At the same time, she acknowledged his prior clean record and the positive remarks in his pre-sentence report, which praised his character and contributions to the community.
Considering those factors, she imposed the fine for the charge of possession of prohibited imports. Anthony has until June 25, 2025, to pay the fine, or he will face a six-month prison sentence.
The prohibited items are to be destroyed, by order of the court.
On the charge of possession of unlawful goods, he was cautioned, reprimanded, and discharged.

How does one support himself and two ladies with no money or just on creating content for social media . Im just asking
So what about the freemasons, the lodge men and the secret societies that does have rituals when they have meetings why the system and the police does not raid and open the building when they have meetings on a Tuesday night.
Why is no one being arrested at the witches conferences that are held here and in the Lodges?
This fine will encourage those young goblins to continue with their malpractice..just like investing $3500 to accumulate millions…so they think
What about the police officers who have protection ring given to them by obeah men, what’s being done about that
Here is the thing that baffles me, I am not against what the magistrate did bt if meday is good at his onions. those articles and particles found by the foolice is of no use because whats in his brain no one can take it. Social media in Lucia generate about a 100$ every week if you’re at a 5 start rating. his income is coming from somewhere else. His source of obtaining those stuff and always be there and he will know how to gain more.
SMDH ….CAN YOU IMMAGINE A NO BODY ON SOCIAL MEDIA DISREPECTING EVERYBODY EVERYDAY ..HAVE TWO WOMEN ..EVERY BODIES BUSINESS IS ON HIS ACCOUNT AND YOU CAN NOT BAIL YOURSELF OUT OF THE TROUBLE YOU LOOK FOR THAT’S DUMB..GO FUND ME ????? LOL..
Trump Era. Time to get rid of the voodoo priest. You’ll St. Lucian’s mind are weak minded now a day What happened to working hard for the things that you’ll need? Keep practicing voodoo and keep mimicking Americans. Lost souls I’m many ways. You’ll don’t deserve to have Julien Alfred.
Natokie is just a sacrificial lamb. His conviction assures a big segment the public that something is being done to curb “foreign influences.” No, to Ouija boards and Wiccan material. Yes, to “fixion and benedixion” We can’t have intrusions of outside poisons into our local poisons. This is totally unacceptable! They are going to taint our brew.
Who is stopping the “gardehs” whose locations are as plentiful as roadside fruit stands. What about their clientele who are every strata of society. We must come face to face with the reality that this society gets its ideas and inspiration from hocus-pocus.
Superstition is in the DNA of this place. Your poorly maintained vehicle breaks down too many times? Of course, it’s your neighbor doing it. Who else? You drive recklessly and get seriously hurt. Who else is responsible but the folks staring in amazement as you pull your dangerous stunts. Remember they are jealous of you. The list goes on and on. Is anyone dismantling certain formal organizations?
Natokie is a soft target. He is walking bullseye. He made a mistake of talking aloud about his “goodies.” Once in a while the authorities must haul in someone to account for dabbling in the occult. He is that person. Meanwhile, church, “gardeh” and everyone else should return to business. The coast is clear until the next loudmouth shows up.
Obeah, voodoo, witchcraft, malvettaye envy jealousy, strife and confusion is rampant in St. Lucia all over the island – WICKEDNESS PREVAILS
Wow wow wow when will you all stop with the obeah and voodoo …I guess when the fire and brimstone hit …what a shame a people so deeply rooted in the occult and satanic affairs both young and old …
So we have his photo, how does the police decide whose photo is released to the media and whose is not?
Arrested for this? Obviously it seems that the lawmen have nothing better to do. Im in no way supporting what this guy stands for…. BUT he has not done anything horrific as yet which can constitute a crime, you know what i mean? If he wants to believe in the occult, then thats his business as long as he doesn’t drag anyone unwillingly into this business.
Alright, quite a few of ‘what aboutisms’ here, leaving that aside, the fact remains he broke the law, following due process he was tried, found guilty, and fined. Anything wrong with that?
“See dem fighting for power for they know not de hour.” What has this gotta do with Voodoo.
Voodoo is a religion that was and is being practiced here in the Caribbean. Most of the big wigs over here are into some sort of occult. We need not try to pretend otherwise. The power of the occult is real throughout the black world.,, Africa , Black America, Uk and the Caribbean.
This man’s deeds does not surprise me one bit. There is a former MP from Castries South who talked about his grandfather being a man who possessed dark powers. There are also many others who are full of bluster and who boast about powers that they have or do not have. People have to be very careful how they enter into this world as when you enter you should be able to get out. Personally I think it is a load of Mumbo Jumbo and baloney. If they are that good why don’t they fix the problems affecting our society like crime unemployment and other social ills?
Everything is in books now. When I lived in London many years ago there were shops which sold these books. I will end with this quote from a Bob Marley song ‘There’s a natural mustique blowing through the air, if you listen carefully now you will hear. Many more will have to suffer many more will have to die.I will tell no lies” ….People wake up and liberate yourselves from that which enslaves us and keeps us in bonbage.
