Montessori School student and Sea Jays swimmer Sapphire Parks delivered a brilliant performance on Easter Sunday, powering her way to two gold medals and a bronze at the Carifta Aquatic Championships.
Tristan Dorville also contributed a bronze, boosting Saint Lucia’s medal count to seven after two days of competition at the National Aquatic Centre in Couva, Trinidad & Tobago.

Parks, making her Carifta debut, had already secured a silver and bronze on the opening day. But she truly shone on Sunday, first claiming gold in the 11-12 girls’ 100m backstroke with a swift 1:10.76. She followed that with another gold in the 400m individual medley, clocking 5:37.47, and rounded out her impressive haul with a bronze in the 200m freestyle at 2:20.91.
In the 15-17 boys’ category, Tristan Dorville and Antoine Destang reached multiple finals. Dorville secured bronze in the 50m butterfly with a time of 24.93 seconds, just ahead of Destang in fourth. Destang also placed fifth in the 200m freestyle. Meanwhile, Jayden Xu added a fifth-place finish in the 13-14 boys’ 100m backstroke.
After two days of competition, Saint Lucia are in 10th place overall with 81 points. On the medals table, they rank 8th with two golds, two silvers and three bronzes.
