As the KFC National Basketball League regular season nears its conclusion, teams are battling for playoff positions. The Bonne Terre Blazers surged to the top of the table with a dominant 100-30 victory over Combined Forces on Tuesday night at the Beausejour Gymnasium.
The Louison brothers, Andre and Troy, led the charge, combining for nearly half of the Blazers’ points. Andre stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points, eight rebounds, nine steals and seven assists, while Troy ended with 26 points, 10 rebounds, eight steals and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Basketball For The Future (BFTF) secured their semifinal berth with a 71-47 win over East Coast Academy. Garrick George, named KFC Player of the Game, finished with 15 points and four steals, shooting 6-of-12 from the field. Joshua Charles added 11 points and seven rebounds, while Cletuson Leon pulled down 19 rebounds to go with his eight points. Caleb Augustin was ECA’s lone double-digit scorer with 11 points.
The Blazers had to wait to take the top spot. They suffered their first loss of the season over the weekend, falling 76-57 to BFTF. Garrick George (19 points) and Ron Dumurville (11 points) spearheaded that victory.
In another weekend matchup, the Morne Gladiators overpowered Combined Schools 100-49, fuelled by Shamoir JnBaptiste’s explosive 41 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists. Lanse Prospere also shone with 30 points and seven assists.
The regular season concludes on Wednesday night, with Combined Schools facing Vieux Fort Basketball, while defending champions Soufriere Kings take on ECA.
