Kaiso Pros Tent Blazes Off with Electrifying Grand Opening

The Kaiso Pros Tent (KPT) lit up the stage with passion, rhythm and powerful messages at its grand opening on Friday night, setting a vibrant tone for the 2025 calypso season.

The show featured two rounds of performances before a packed and enthusiastic crowd at the Cultural Centre.

Realist.

Some of the first round of performances were Realist’s powerful Change Mood, setting a reflective tone. Dez Chantel followed with the cleverly crafted House Pets, while Hyper kept the energy high with Mr Bus Driver. Other standout performances included De Vine with Not Built for Backup, Lady CeCe’s Love Me, and Taker’s thought-provoking Not Enough to Get Out

Kay Kay delivered a crowd favourite with A Woman Ten Times, claiming that women can do things ten times better than men. The message-driven People Are People by Blackberry, Mystic’s Mental Health, and a performance by Keytinna rounded out a diverse and meaningful first round.

The audience was especially moved by A Woman Ten Times and Lady CeCe’s Love Me, both of which were met with roaring applause and calls for encores.

Lady CeCe.

The second round was just as compelling, with returning performers delivering new hits. Taker stirred hearts with Build Strong Children and was followed by TC Brown’s stirring Exodus. Dez Chantel returned with Keep On Walking, and J’ergan declared his defiance in I Eh Going Back.

Mystic brought it home with Home, while Lady CeCe returned with the socially conscious Change Your Behaviour

Kay Kay’s second offering, Calypso Lost, was a nod to preserving the culture, while Realist introspected with Look in De Mirror. The evening closed with Blaze’s fiery De Ban, ending the night on a high.

In a surprise treat, King Bobb of Dominica took the stage as the guest artiste.
