Airport Charge On Regional Flights To And From Saint Lucia Cut In Half

Passengers flying in and out of Saint Lucia to and from other Caribbean destinations are now paying significantly less in airport service charges.

As of June 1, the airport service charge on regional commercial flights has been cut in half — from EC$68 to EC$34 — making travel to and from Saint Lucia more affordable for Caribbean passengers.

The reduction, which is in effect for six months until December 31, 2025, was authorised by Prime Minister Hon. Philip J. Pierre through a Statutory Instrument signed earlier this year.

The government says the initiative is aimed at easing the financial burden on travellers and encouraging greater regional movement, which aligns with CARICOM’s broader push for improved connectivity and integration.

“Lowering the airport service charge will benefit the thousands of airline passengers who depart and arrive in Saint Lucia from Caribbean destinations every week,” a government statement said.

The move is expected to stimulate intra-Caribbean travel, which has faced longstanding challenges due to high ticket prices and limited routes.

Government officials have framed the decision as part of Saint Lucia’s contribution to the regional effort to make travel more accessible, while also promoting stronger economic and social ties within CARICOM.
