Saint Lucian Carnival band, Just 4 Fun, marked a major milestone this year, celebrating 25 years of redefining the Carnival experience on the island.
Band leader Veil Tobierre reflected on the journey, calling their launch in 2000 as Saint Lucia’s first all-inclusive party band a “revolutionary shift” that set a new standard for what Carnival could be. Over the years, Just 4 Fun has grown into a powerhouse, known not just for its size but for its commitment to excellence at every level – from costume design to customer care.
Under the direction of Claude Desir, the band has moved from simple presentations to “bold, high-concept themes” that fuse Caribbean heritage with global fashion trends. But the creativity is matched by service, something Tobierre says has been key to their long-term success.
“We prioritise clear communication, timely support, and personalised attention,” he said, noting that their use of digital platforms and real-time customer engagement tools has made registration and road participation seamless for masqueraders.
It’s this consistent quality and care that has earned the band a loyal following. “Many of our masqueraders return year after year,” he said. “Our goal is not just to satisfy expectations but to exceed them.”
This year’s 25th anniversary celebration was a testament to that mission. From anniversary-themed costumes to a surprise road performance by Skinny Fabulous, the band delivered a Carnival experience that felt both historic and unforgettable. “The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” Tobierre said. “People felt part of something special.”
Just 4 Fun is already setting its sights beyond Saint Lucia. Plans are in motion to expand the brand regionally and internationally through pop-up events, partnerships and potential appearances in Carnivals abroad.
As Tobierre puts it, the formula for lasting success is simple: “We listen. We pay attention to trends, we innovate, and we evolve, all while staying true to who we are.”
