Gospel Star Nigela St Clair-Daniel Secures Another Major Award

Saint Lucian gospel performer Nigela St Clair-Daniel has added another award to her growing list of achievements.

At the 29th Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards, held last Sunday in the Bahamas, she took home the award for Outstanding Calypso Soca Vocal Performance – Female. Her self-penned hit, Follow, claimed the top prize, continuing its remarkable success since its release less than a year ago.

The song has dominated international airplay and soared to number one on US gospel charts, further solidifying her global appeal.

The ceremony, hosted at the iconic Myles Munroe Diplomat Centre, brought together gospel artists and industry leaders from across the region and beyond. Ahead of the main event, Nigela delivered performances at the Marlin Youth Fest on July 25 and again at the grand finale on July 27, sharing the stage with Trinidad’s Sherwin Gardner, Canada’s Juno Award winner K-Anthony, British gospel luminary Noel Robinson and international hitmaker Nigel Lewis.

Beyond her performances, Nigela represented Saint Lucia at the Marlin Awards Industry Seminar, contributing to discussions on the global reach of Caribbean gospel music. The awards night was especially poignant for Saint Lucians in the Bahamas, who cheered her on with national pride as she brought yet another honour to the island.

Expressing gratitude for the support from the Saint Lucian Ministry of Tourism and the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, Nigela remarked, “This was just such a wonderful honour for Saint Lucia on the whole.”

Her win follows last year’s triumph at the Antigua Global Music Awards (ABGMA), where she earned Collaboration of the Year for Battles, featuring Barbadian singer Neesha Woodz.

A dynamic force in gospel music, Nigela has graced major stages, including Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival’s Kingdom Night, where she performed in 2024 and returned this May as the event’s host. She has also shared the spotlight with gospel legends like Donnie McClurkin, Helen Baylor, Limoblaze, Papa San and Kevin Downswell, among others.

With chart-topping songs like Under de Blood, I Come to Praise, We Need Love, and The Greatest featuring Jahzy, her music continues to resonate worldwide.

Beyond her artistry, Nigela’s multifaceted career as an MBA-qualified business professional, songwriter, worship leader and motivational speaker makes her a sought-after voice for concerts, workshops, and conferences across the region.
