Hashtag Call on Kegan Caull for new season

Saint Lucia international Kegan Caull has committed to Hashtag United Football Club for the upcoming English season, a release from the club said on Wednesday. The 21-year-old forward joins the Tags as they plot to improve on an eighth-place finish in last year’s Isthmian League Premier Division.

A semi-professional football club based in Essex in southeastern England, the Tags play at Parkside, Aveley. They have had a strong recruiting season, adding Caull to an attacking lineup that will include 19-year-old Nigerian winger Praise Ogbebor and 22-year-old French striker Emmanuel Robe.

Caull is a pacy winger who loves to take on defenders, and he is hoping to help propel the team forward this season. The Canaries native has won silverware in Slovenia with NK Tolmin, and has played senior football as well. He started his professional journey at Europa Point in Gibraltar, joining from VSADC in Saint Lucia.

This new move is a positive step for the emerging attacker, who can play in any advanced position. Caull first made his name as a teenager, spearheading victories for the national team in the 2018 Caribbean Football Union Boys’ Under-14 Challenge Series and the 2019 Concacaf Boys’ Under-15 Championship.

The Tags’ new Saint Lucian signing met another prospective Saint Lucian international last weekend in a preseason friendly. Former Queens Park Rangers defender Kai Woollard-Innocent appeared for Eastbourne Borough FC in a 2-2 draw with Hashtag United, in which Caull scored in the second half. Innocent contributed to the opening goal for the National League South outfit.
