Competition continued on Thursday and Friday for Fayth Jeffrey and Tristan Dorville at the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships, the second and third days in the pool at Romania’s Otopeni Olympic Aquatics Complex.
Dorville competed in the men’s 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly, finishing 35th and 44th overall, respectively. The incoming Virginia Tech freshman clocked 23.49 seconds in the freestyle sprint and 25.33 in the butterfly. His freestyle time was a hundredth of a second off his personal best, which earned him bronze at the CARIFTA Aquatics Championship earlier this year in Trinidad & Tobago.
For the fly, Dorville was in Heat 9, Lane 6, and placed eighth in his heat. For the freestyle, he competed in Heat 10, Lane 8, and was second in his heat.
Jeffrey participated in the 100m breaststroke, competing in Heat 4, Lane 6. She was seventh in her heat in 1:22.47, which left her 52nd overall. She did not start the women’s 200m medley.
Next up for these two athletes on Saturday, Dorville will be in the men’s 100m freestyle, whilst Jeffrey is set to contest the women’s 50m freestyle.
