Saint Lucia has announced two “transformational” projects that officials say will redefine its luxury tourism and real estate landscape: the Harbor Club Residences in Rodney Bay and the Marquis Estate development.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Dr Ernest Hilaire, described the developments as “transformational” for Saint Lucia.
Speaking at a briefing by Invest Saint Lucia and his ministry, Hilaire praised the Harbor Club’s proven reputation for quality service and hospitality, noting that its expansion into luxury residences will “introduce a luxury residency option in Saint Lucia alongside this property”.
He added that from the outset, the vision for Marquis Estate has stood out as “one of the most transformational investments in the history of Saint Lucia”.
The Harbor Club Residences will be developed by Caribbean Hospitality Management Group (CHMG) on lands adjacent to the Harbor Club Hotel. The project will feature 82 luxury residences, including penthouses, sub-penthouses, and two- and three-bedroom units, all with marina views, as well as an exclusive club floor with a sky pool and bar.
According to CHMG, “The Harbor Club Residences are not just an opportunity to expand our business into Saint Lucia, but also an opportunity to continue to improve the lives of the Caribbean people we engage.”
The group emphasised its longstanding commitment to the island, having already invested more than US$100 million in hospitality developments.
The Marquis Estate project, being led by Atrium Design and Management, will combine tourism, education and community living in Babonneau. Plans include a university and campus zone, a greenhouse zone, a cemetery zone, a wellness centre, an agricultural area and both single-family and multi-family housing.
Chief Architect Inci Apkinar described the vision as deeply rooted in Saint Lucia’s culture and environment. “Together, building Marquis Estate is not a project. It’s a promise,” she said. “Our mission is clear and committed to safeguard the history of this sacred land, elevate its standards and create a future that genuinely empowers.”
Apkinar confirmed that construction has started and the first draft of the master plan should be ready in the next two to three weeks.
I remember watching English Premier League football some years ago, and the advertising scrolling on the display monitors along the pitch showed Marquis Estate in Saint Lucia, as a place to invest, with Manchester United. No idea what became of that, although it appears that some construction was started, that must have been about 15 years ago! Let’s see what happens this time around.
