Saint Lucia celebrates multiple nominations at Caribbean Music Awards

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) is set to highlight the island’s cultural influence at the Caribbean Music Awards in New York on August 28. The occasion is marked by a significant nomination for the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival, which is in the running for the coveted title of Music Event of the Year.

SLTA CEO Louis Lewis described the recognition as a proud milestone, noting that it highlights both the festival’s global appeal and the broader creative sector.

“This nomination is a proud moment for Saint Lucia and affirms the global recognition of the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival,” he said, while emphasising the Authority’s commitment to the Orange Economy and the arts as drivers of opportunity and inspiration across the region.

The Caribbean Music Awards will also honour a number of Saint Lucians. Shirleyann Cyril-Mayers will receive the 2025 Gospel Honouree award for her contributions to music, youth development, and ministry.

Other nominees from Saint Lucia include Michael Robinson (French Caribbean Artiste of the Year), Shemmy J (Soca Impact Award), Dale Elliott (Entertainer of the Year), Emrand Henry (Gospel Honour), and Daan Chorus (Dancehall Impact Award).

As a Bronze Sponsor of the event, the SLTA said its support reflects its dedication to platforms that empower Caribbean artists and celebrate creativity. “We remain deeply committed to supporting the Orange Economy, music, arts, and culture as pillars that fuel innovation, inspire communities, and create opportunities,” Lewis added.

Now in its third year, the Caribbean Music Awards has established itself as the region’s premier platform for recognising talent, often compared to the Grammy Awards but uniquely dedicated to Caribbean artists whose work is gaining increasing global recognition.

Adding to the excitement, SLTA and the Caribbean Music Awards have teamed up with Secrets St. Lucia to launch an Instagram contest, offering two winners an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2026 Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival. The contest will run until August 30, with winners to be announced on September 4.
