‘Remote’ Thrilled as Saint Lucia Kings Celebrate Win with His Signature Dance

Following the Saint Lucia Kings’ third consecutive victory on Sunday’s Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League match, the team performed the signature dance moves of rising soca star Jeanmerk “Remote” Jean.

Jean first rose to national attention after winning the Piton Soca Stars competition, a victory that came as a surprise to the artist.

His winning track, Remote Calm Down Remix (Wire), fuses Afrobeats and soca rhythms, a style that has become his signature.

“It was a well-deserved win, it felt like winning the lottery when I saw them win, and best of all, doing my dance,” he told St Lucia Times, expressing his excitement about the tribute.

For the Vieux Fort native, the recognition was a proud moment for both his music career and his Saint Lucian identity.

“I want to be known worldwide, ensuring to carry my Saint Lucian pride with me wherever I go. It will be an honour to take part in Power Soca and other famous competitions. I know it will be tough, but I’ll give it my best,” he added.
