A second life has been claimed following a brazen shooting in the community of L’Abbayee, Bexon last week.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) has confirmed that 51-year-old Gregory Felix, who had been hospitalised in critical condition following the September 18th shooting, succumbed to his injuries on September 21st at the Owen King European Union Hospital.
Felix was the older of two men shot near an abandoned structure the pair reportedly used as a regular “cool-out spot.” The first victim, 24-year-old Reo Maximin, was pronounced dead at the scene on the day of the incident, which occurred just after 4:30 p.m.
That same day, a resident of the area recalled that Felix had only just returned from selling produce in Castries before the attack. He described him as a farmer and said he was not known to be involved in any trouble.
“Nobody can say anything bad about dah [that] man,” he said.
The investigation remains ongoing, with police appealing to anyone with information to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 456-3754, or submit tips anonymously through the Crime Hotline at 555 or via the RSLPF Crime Hotline App.
The double homicide has intensified public concern over violent crime and left the Bexon community grappling with shock and grief.
