Solar Tours & Travel earns silver medal at Stella Awards

Solar Tours & Travel, a destination management company, has been awarded a silver medal in the International and US Territories Best DMC category at the 2025 Stella Awards.

The awards celebrated 248 global organisations for excellence and innovation in the meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) industry, according to Northstar Meetings Group.

This achievement marks an upgrade for Solar Tours & Travel, advancing from its 2024 bronze medal to silver.

Carmelita Xavier, CEO of Solar Tours and Travel and Gimie’s Lifetime Award Winner 2023, expressed her excitement over the recognition, saying, “We are beyond thrilled. This recognition … truly reflects the hard work, dedication and passion our team puts into delivering exceptional experiences for our clients. We look forward to attaining gold in 2026.”

Northstar’s Stella Awards honour excellence across key segments of the industry, including hotels, convention and conference centres, airlines, cruise lines, DMOs/CVBs and DMCs.

The organisers say this year’s winners were selected from more than 10,000 votes and 1,009 nominations, reflecting superior performance in overall excellence, food and beverage offerings, staff professionalism, sustainability initiatives and other vital elements of the meetings and events experience.

“The Stella Awards honour the consistent contributions of the industry’s most trusted supplier partners who set new standards for service and innovation,” said Shalise DeMott, senior vice president, US, for Northstar.

“Winners are first nominated and voted on by planners, then undergo a thorough review by an esteemed panel of judges.”
