Leo, Edward to lead Saint Lucia in U23 cricket against Dominica

Noelle Leo and Tarrique Edward will lead the Saint Lucia Under-23 men’s cricket team in matches against Dominica, starting on Thursday, December 4. The two sides will play three 50-over matches and a three-day fixture at Benjamin’s Park in Portsmouth.

Saint Lucia hosted the inaugural bilateral series in 2024, winning the limited-overs series 2-1 and the three-day match, behind a brilliant triple century from Ackeem Auguste and outstanding bowling by Tyrel Chicot.

This year, Windward Islands Volcanoes senior wicketkeeper Leo will lead the one-day team, and former West Indies Under-19 allrounder Edward is in charge of the three-day unit. The selection is replete with current and former members of the Saint Lucia Cricket High Performance Centre.

Among the returning players from last year are Bolton Sayers, Windward Islands senior pacer Keon Gaston, Royce Paul, Lee John, Isiah Jones, Shawnil Edward, Jayden Elibox and Kensley Paul. Adding to that number are talented batsman Theo Edward, wicketkeeper Jonathan Daniel, Aaron Joseph, wily spinner Cody Lesmond, Kevin Gassie and Kethan Charlemagne.

Under the guidance of head coach John Eugene, the team left Saint Lucia on Wednesday, December 3. Former Windward Islands spinner Larry Edward is the team manager.
