An adult male sustained a severe head wound and multiple injuries in a truck crash at Vieux Secrieux on Monday, December 8, 2025, the Saint Lucia Fire Service has confirmed.
Emergency responders arrived at about 9:25 a.m. to find the driver, the truck’s sole occupant, seated at the roadside. He was treated on site before being transported for advanced care.
Shortly after, video footage circulated on social media showing the truck colliding with a red SUV after striking a parked backhoe. The Fire Service confirmed the SUV was hit as a result of the impact.
Clips show the truck’s cab tipped forward, its airbag deflated and onlookers visibly distressed over the driver’s condition. Images appearing to show blood on the roadway heightened public concern.
Authorities have not yet released further details on the cause of the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
