Footballer Pearson inducted in US school Hall of Fame

Saint Lucia international midfielder Peter Pearson has been inducted into the Cape Henry Collegiate School Hall of Fame in recognition of his career as a Dolphin and his subsequent exploits at the collegiate, professional and international levels.

Born in the US, the 30-year-old Pearson has played seven full matches for the Piton Boyz, scoring once. He has competed under the cerulean blue in the CONCACAF Nations League as well as FIFA World Cup and Gold Cup Qualifying.

Pearson has also enjoyed a five-year professional career, mostly in the US. He last played for USL League Two club Des Moines Menace in 2024.

2014 Cape Henry alumnus Pearson was one of Monday’s five inductees into the CHC Athletic Hall of Fame, along with Tyler Ramirez ‘13, Coach Jack Effner, Khajae Hester ‘12, and Erin Scherrer ‘15.

“Their stories highlighted gratitude, commitment, resilience and growth, and reminded us that success is built together as a community,” a release from CHC said.

Cape Henry Collegiate bills itself as the top prekindergarten to grade 12 independent, college-preparatory private school in Virginia Beach, Virginia. With over 1,000 students, the athletics department oversees training and competition in 60 different sports.

“Honoured and truly grateful to be inducted into the Hall of Fame of such a prestigious institution that helped me get to where I am today,” Pearson said on his social media.

“This recognition is a reflection of the incredible teammates and ppl who shared the journey and made it possible. Football has given me far more than the game itself: lifelong friendships, unforgettable experiences, the loves of my life, and the chance to give back and inspire the next generation. Forever thankful.”

From CHC, Pearson went on to become a student-athlete at the University of Virginia and Virginia Commonwealth University. He is now assistant technical director at Own Touch Central, and he works with NDUR for Athletes as a mentor and mental health advocate, helping student-athletes strengthen mindset, confidence, and performance.
