The victim of Thursday’s fatal chopping in Vieux Fort had plans to get married within weeks, a close family member revealed.

Kervin Louis, of Bacaderre, Vieux-Fort, died at the scene on Bridge Street after allegedly being attacked by a masked man.

Louis, who was in his thirties, had sustained a gaping wound to the neck.

“He was supposed to get married this month or next month,” a family member told St. Lucia Times.

The family member disclosed that the Nigerian woman Louis was planning to marry intended to travel to Saint Lucia on October 10th.

“On Facebook they met,” the relative explained.

The family member disclosed that the deceased construction worker had an altercation with others on the day he died.

“Everybody say that he finish with that already, so he went by the laundry and was giving jokes with two other people and then the guy came, I heard, and then the guy chopped him,” the family member stated.

  1. Sad situation for the grusome death, and also the fact that he died not understanding that he was too naive to see the tactics of the Nigerian woman. I hope he never sent her and her pimp money. These Africans and Asians will never stop with their manipulative ways. The long distance, online love con. Why aren’t there more on documentaries about these relationship scammers? Dale Elliot needs to do one because I have heard of a few ppl who have gotten caught in this. Not everyone is as sharp unfortunately.

  2. @SMH, there a countless YouTube videos and documentaries on Scams. Scammers from different countries are known for specific styles of scamming. The common ones are:
    1. Romance Scam from Nigeria
    2. Computer Tech Support Scam from India
    3. Pig Butchering Scam from China.
    4. Lottery Scam from Jamaica.
    5. Investment Scam from Israel.

This is not to vilify people from these countries but these types of scams are generally associated with criminals from these areas.

  3. Nigerians specially/ but west Africans also. India & Eastern Europeans/ a bunch of SCAMERS; be very careful sending money to unknown persons/agents or unknown Companies.
The World has always been, but todays’ technology makes it worse/International/faster/harder to trace/ targeting the elderly/mainly the unlearned & naive. Pray morning & night to the LORD for guidance.

  4. If you do not get the minimum wage of 6:52 an hour please bring your payslip to the labour department or see a lawyer
