Police Charge Man In Sofia Gabriela Munoz Pocon Homicide

On Thursday September 26, about 8:10pm p.m., the Gros-Islet Police Station received and responded to a report of homicide at Monier, located in Gros-Islet.

This incident claimed the life of Sofia Gabriela Munoz Pocon; a 24-year-old Guatemalan national.

A male suspected was arrested, following the initiation of investigations into the matter. A post mortem examination was conducted upon the body, which revealed that she died as a result of multiple stab wounds to the neck and body.

As a consequence, Jared Bovelle, a twenty-four (24) year old resident of Beausejour, Gros Islet, was formally charged for causing the death of Sofia Gabriela Munoz Pocon.

He is currently remanded in police custody, pending a bail hearing.

  1. What do you mean……”in Police custody pending BAIL HEARING.” I just don’t understand the Law in St. Lucia……You don’t just cause the death of someone and be brought before a Judge for bail hearing; what if he can afford a big smart Lawyer who can get him out on bail?????

  2. Why is he remanded in Police custody pending a bail hearing? for some reason, there is a reason why he was arrested, then why a BAIL hearing? obviously you can detect I’m not with it as far as the Law Courts is concerned; why not cut the B.S. go straight to High Court & let’s deal with it.

  3. Let it was said he came from Marchand or Bruceville with a certain last name we would have known his date of birth.
