Six Medals For Saint Lucia At CAC

Saint Lucia captured six medals at the IFBB Central American & Caribbean (CAC) Fitness & Bodybuilding Championship, at the National Cultural Centre in Georgetown, Guyana. The 51st edition of the CAC competition featured over 200 athletes from 25 countries.

Sherkym Daniel of Southern Fitness took two medals, first finishing second in the men’s classic physique senior up to 175 cm. Daniel also got bronze in the men’s bodybuilding 80 kg.

Also entered in the men’s classic physique division, Joneil Pelage (Energy Fitness Gym) was fourth.

Saint Lucia took two of the top three spots in the men’s physique senior over 176cm division.

Behind Barbados’ Bukkiah Providence were Kirby Charles with silver and Jabari Brouet with bronze. Brouet (Storm Caster Fitness) and Charles (Mango Moon) had taken silver and bronze, respectively, in 2022 and 2023.

Gratious Octave was the top Saint Lucian athlete of three entered in the fitness challenge male silver, coming in third. Levi Edward and Shanni Mesmin were sixth and seventh. All three are from Soufriere Fitness Centre.

Shani Victorin was sixth in the bikini master Over 35 category. But she copped silver behind Costa Rica’s Miliza Millon in the women’s fit model class.

The Saint Lucia Amateur Bodybuilding and Body Fitness Association (SLABBFA) is preparing to host the 52nd CAC Championship in 2025. Organisers are hoping to build on a successful trip to Guyana, and the association is presently seeking corporate support.
