Seven Finalists Set to Compete in Miss District High Pageant

Seven girls and young women are preparing to compete in the finals of the Miss District High pageant, which takes place next week.

The contestants, selected earlier this year following auditions in March, will take to the stage on August 16 at the National Cultural Centre, where they will vie for the crown in a show that combines talent, confidence and youth advocacy.

This year’s finalists are:

Samarah Pierre – Miss Piton Malta

Odile Harper – Miss M&C Drugstore

Simaine Anthony – Miss KFC

Zoey Joseph – Miss Skin Envy

Kera Lawrence – Miss K’s Tropical Seamoss

Tyraeser Timaitre – Miss DBS

Nairobi Augustin – Miss Pinkbutterflii Naturals

Founded to offer young people greater growth opportunities, the competition focuses on building confidence and encouraging strong youth advocates.

“We are specifically looking for a youth advocate, someone who is industrious, ambitious and inspired to be a role model for young girls and boys, to let them know that they too can follow their dreams,” Executive Director Treasure Actille told St Lucia Times.

The final will feature five segments: an opening interview, talent, swimwear, evening wear, and a final interview round for the top three contestants.

The winner will receive a scholarship for a course of her choice at the University of the West Indies Global Campus, along with a package of prizes including hotel accommodation, an electronic device from Computer World and dinner at Spice of India.

She will also inherit the Miss District High title from outgoing queen Miya Johnson (Miss M&C Drugstore 2024), gaining access to further training and eligibility for other pageants in Saint Lucia and the wider Caribbean.

According to Actille, a potential trip to Martinique for the top three finalists is also being considered.

“These girls come from various socioeconomic backgrounds, and at the end of the day, I believe they all want to attain the crown,” he said.

Actille also revealed that preparations are underway for a male counterpart to the competition, Sir Lucia, which will feature five contestants. Billed as a “male strategy contest”, Sir Lucia is scheduled for September 19.
