Two arrested after guns, ammo, and drugs seized in Vieux-Fort operation

Police have detained two individuals following a major early-morning operation in Vigier, Vieux-Fort, that uncovered illegal firearms, ammunition and drugs.

According to the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF), officers from several specialised units – including the Criminal Investigations Department, Gangs Narcotics and Firearms Unit, Special Services South and Dennery, and the Tactical Response Unit – executed a search warrant at a residence around 4:30 a.m. on Monday, September 22.

During the operation, officers searched the surrounding area and uncovered a cache of weapons and narcotics. Items recovered included:

  • One Taurus pistol loaded with 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition and one additional chambered round
  • One AR-15-type rifle with a magazine containing 29 rounds of 5.56 ammunition
  • An additional 30 rounds of 5.56 ammunition found in a black nylon bag
  • 82 grams of cannabis resin, with an estimated street value of $820

The RSLPF has confirmed that two individuals were arrested in connection with the seizure. Investigations remain ongoing.

The police force reiterated its commitment to removing illegal firearms and narcotics from communities and urged members of the public to come forward with any relevant information. Reports can be made anonymously via the Crime Hotline at 555 or through the RSLPF Crime Hotline App.

“The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force remains committed to removing illegal firearms, ammunition, and narcotics from our communities and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens,” the statement read.
