Saint Lucia to contest ECVA Women’s Final Four with new look

Team Saint Lucia will contest the 2025 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Women’s Final Four Tournament, this weekend in Antigua and Barbuda. With the ECVA opting for a new streamlined format this year, there are also several reported changes for the two-time ECVA women’s tournament champions.

Volleyball Saint Lucia did not respond to requests to share the national team roster but St. Lucia Times has been reliably informed that some of the top players from last year’s team will be absent. Best outside hitter and most valuable player Kerin Neptune has supposedly been left out. Best blocker Tyna William is also excluded. Young hitter Ericka Gaspard, a regional beach volleyball star of recent years, is now at school in the United States.

Two of last year’s award winners are back, however, Cindy Wilson picked up the award for best setter. The best digger was libero Tenayestlgni Joseph. The team will also feature former Arkansas Pine Bluff hitter Lisa Casimie, who will be on the national team for the first time in several years.

Outside hitters Amalia Louis and Chenoa Evans return from last year, along with middle blocker Denila Prospere, whilst opposite hitter Sandy Nugent is set to be back in national colours after missing out last year. Middle blocker Yosherbel Emmanuel is another player suiting up after some time out.

The tournament will be held between Friday and Sunday at the YMCA, in St John’s, with Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, and Bermuda. The winner will have the opportunity to represent the ECVA at the NORCECA Pan American Cup in 2026.
